Default 740 Prices

I’m just starting to get my eye in regarding 1980s 740 prices (should I decide on one for a project next winter). I’ve been following this one on eBay:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/326090525...mis&media=COPY

… more of less what I’d be looking for: 1986 (and so will qualify as an historic vehicle in April 2027), 2.3L carburettor motor, okayish MoT history and mileage but in need of a bit of care and attention.

My feeling is that 4 grand is far too much for a non-historic 740, if it was a similar 240 I’d be looking to pay not much more than £2,000 (as I did with the Barge). Perhaps 740s make more than 240s (although I can’t imagine why that would be the case)? I’ll watch the auction to its conclusion in a few hours time and see whether the market agrees with me.
