from what ive read it does look that way, but it just seems its fuel that meets a racing spec and that added all these tricks to stay within the spec but get the best possible performance.

for us regular drivers, it would just make more sense to run the higher octane fuel i mentioned above as this would lower the chances of detonation as mentioned by ross and allow us to run more boost + advance the ign (map permitting). and for those of us that will soon be running multiple switchable maps on their ecu, this is even better as they will be able to flick between maps.
