Default D4 Cylinder Head Rebuild - How Many of Us Out There?

I have read the numerous articles about EGR problems on the D4 engine on this forum and elsewhere. The best explanation I have found is the fault is caused by overcooling in the EGR resulting in condensation which mixed with soot and diesel produces a sticky paste that gums everything up.
I have a 2014 S80 with 39K on the clock and a full Volvo service history. The first sign of trouble was a P3410 code about a month after I had the inlet manifold safety recall done, the cause sticking inlet valves, the fix complete cylinder head rebuild, the cost £3,100. The dealership negotiated with Volvo and they contributed 40% leaving me with a bill of £1,870.
I have written to Volvo inviting them to reimburse me as I believe this is a design fault, they declined and say it isn't a design fault which left me wondering how many other owners have had to pay for a cylinder head rebuild?
If there are enough of us then it may be possible to convince them to cough up.
