It's been my experience that poly bushes have their place to stiffen suspension and reduce play in mountings but this tends to be at the expense of comfort and sometimes longevity of the bush. They are great for track cars needing very tight suspension and travelling very little mileage. The thing to be borne in mind before fitting them is that the OEM components will have been subject to a great deal of testing and development to meet the perceived needs of the car and the use to which it will be put. Aftermarket bushes may not have been tested on the cars for which they are provided and the way they perform may be limited by the expertise of the manufacturer. That is not to say that some poly bushes are not better than others. However there is often a price to pay in terms of harsh ride, short life or noisy operation. In the past I have used poly bushes for suspension and engine mounting and while I enjoyed some of the improvements which they gave, ultimately I drifted back to the OEM bushes in most of the uses. I suffered failed suspension bushes leading to extremely noisy suspension over rough road surfaces and unwanted engine vibration entering the cabin and making driving long distances uncomfortable. On a track I'd have put up with it for the sake of performance but on the road I tired of the downsides and removed all but one small lateral engine mount. My advice, for what it's worth, would be not to use poly bushes unless you are dissatisfied with the suspension performance of your car to the point where you feel that either you change the suspension or you change the car.
