No one will convince the DVLA that fitting a slurpy old Rover V8 will improve efficiency, safety, or environmental performance! That being the case, it'll never qualify for historic vehicle status.

We have discussed this issue previously, somewhere in the posts above I think. The motor car is already properly registered as a V8 (some years ago if I recall), so I doubt that any of the civil servants working from their kitchen tables in Swansea will notice anything out of the ordinary. I rather suspect it will qualify as an historic vehicle without any problems (but I suppose there is a small risk).
