Right now, Volvo UK and its dealers are able to sell most of the XC90s they can can get hold of so introducing cheaper engine variants, whether T5 or D4, will not happen until demand for the existing high value and high margin cars starts to wane.
I think it will happen but the timing will be entirely down to market forces.
