I agree with what you write abou the cost of these chains. They look a lot like these Thule chains:

They are very expensive as well...
I do like the design of the Centrax chains, I amagine they are easy to place and remove.
Perhaps other manufacturers will soon produce more affordable chains of the same design.
I have heard a lot of bad things about socks and spiders. I hear they are ruined after a wheel spin.
