Very amusing - I was gonna say that sometimes if there's coolant there it is meant to be there!

I'm not sure if there's a section in Volvo books about this but Mercedes have a list of expected resistance vs temperature for their coolant sensors - you could check the sensor instead of just replacing and hoping...
