Like any software, Vida can be made to work on almost anything with some effort but it's more a question of why would you want to?
Personally, I wouldn't spend time offering support trying to make it run natively on XP so you would need to speak to the sellers who are offering that solution.
If your laptop hardware is decent spec, you could upgrade it to Windows 7 Professional and if it can support a virtual machine, that would be another good option.
