I normally use a Delphi diagnostic computer but bought the VIDA to reset the error. No luck yet.

If the fault comes straight back, your DPF maybe blocked or have some kind of issue. You don't mention if you've done any work on it.
Software updates are only available via a paid Vida subscription or Volvo dealership/specialist.
