Hello,

The gear stick on my V40 (D2 R-Design, 14 plate, 76k miles) has started squeaking when changing gears. It happens when changing from 1st up to 2nd, and from 3rd down to 2nd (i.e. during the physical downwards motion of changing gears). It seems to have only started doing it this morning, but I am rather anxious as I need to drive from South Wales to Yorkshire today, and back again tomorrow. Is this likely just a lubrication issue? And, if so, will driving 400-450 miles on it be an issue, or should I get it looked into before I go? I just want to make sure that I'm not driving it if it's not safe!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :-)
