You may wish to have a read of this thread. I experienced something similar. Initially Volvo said a software update would fix. The fault then reappeared and a new starting modular plus stalks was replaced. Fortunately, I managed to get the fix under manufactures warranty. I have since taken extended warranty. Just in case it fails again.
