Default RE: S80 AM radio problem

Aerial lead connects through to the bumper at the right side of the car as you have your head in the boot. Remove the side panel and you can see. Don't know if this will help AM reception.

Taking the unit out of the car is not for the faint hearted. Lift up the gear lever surround and move back (you'll need to pull gear lever back), then undo 2 screw holding bottom of air console. Then pulling it forward at the bottom, then pulling down it should come free - but is very tight! You can then see 2 screws holding the radio in. By the way, you may well trigger an SRS Airbag warning (I have), and will need to visit a dealer to get it reset (if you want to avoid seeing the warning message every day).

Some time ago there was some info on AM reception problems (noise etc..) - and there was (US only I think) recall. Do a search on google or similar.
