A 55 plate will be a facelift car with plastic lenses I think.

The fitting of new bulbs is such a pain that I always go for the longest life bulbs I can find so I don't have to do it too often.

To date I have found genuine Volvo parts from a dealer cost about £12 (from my very poor memory) , much more expensive than almost everywhere else, but they have lasted a couple of years and more than 20k miles.
