We now run a V70 (2.4 petrol) after many years of 745 ownership. While we prefer RWD, the V70 is slowly growing on us and is certainly a very comfortable car for both passengers and driver.
I'm afraid that I have no experience of V50s, so cannot comment on them, but I wish you luck in your search for a replacement for your 960. We looked in vain for a nice 965 / V90 before settling for the V70 - maybe things are different in NZ?

Most of these cars are 2nd hand ex Japan.
Never seen a 765, 965 or V90 in New Zealand.
I think the NZ Dealers have new V90's
