Tonight I spent a good amount of time with VIDA and at one stage having fiddled with the wiring to the EGR and doing an adaption on the MAF/ air system... things began to look very nice.

The intake temperature began to fall incrementally, the Egr valve began to react to revving of the engine and for a few minutes I began to believe all was well.

And then car began to make odd noises and the EGR stuck at 95% temperature crept upwards and foul language was used.

I cleared the codes took the car for a drive EGR remained at 95% whilst she drove reasonably well until ten minutes into the journey when the check engine light came on and 135f fault was indicated. drove back as usual at 2,200 rpm with perfectly smooth engine note, for a short period the EGR was fluctuating and then came to rest at 95%.

It seems it must be an EGR issue.... but can this valve be DIY repaired.... it seems on line that it is an exchange basis at silly money for what is only a simple solenoid
