I once had a Suzuki Kizashi that had an annoying rattle which sounded like it came from inside the dash. After months of chasing it around I found it to be the exterior plastic windscreen scuttle cover rattling on the windscreen which just amplified the sound. Cured with draft proofing foam strip to isolate it.
