bournricha, the consensus seems to be with you, the phase 1 cars are what my mates dad, a man I call 'Spanner Fingers' would refer to as 'proper cars'. The type of thing that is fixable/maintainable without the huge collection of bespoke expensive tools/fitting kits to merely change the oil. I've found a decent v70 (170) and I'm planning on going to look at it this weekend, the car has been sat for a year in a dealer and its got 128k on, it has service history but the cambelt was last done 10 years ago. The dealer is offering the car at 1150 with the option of a 500 retail package which seems to address the cambelt as it include a full service, mot and valet plus anything the car needs to be fully functional. The car is 100 miles away from me so I think I'll need to get the car up to scratch before I drive it home, this is the car
