The volvo dealership are probably right in saying as a last resort another bolt would have to be welded onto the ruined one,that's what i had to do when i lost my locking bolt socket,but the cost by them would be steep,alternatively you would be better off taking it to a local one man band or small garage and they would do it for a fraction of dealers,and they have probably done that job loads of times successfully.
