I tried to open my rear door earlier today, but for some reason the handle didn’t seem to engage the lock mechanism inside the door... I read a thread to find this seems quite a common occurrence on the Volvo. It was suggested to operate the lock/unlock on the drivers door fast simultaneously which could possibly solve the problem. I drove 135 miles this afternoon, and did this every chance I had. I’m not certain how many times it took to get the lock to work, however when I reached my destination I tried the door, and hey presto it opened. So maybe try to persevere with the procedure for a little longer and it may work for you to. Thanks to the chap who suggested this.
