I put hte Magnefine after the cooler because I had no idea of the providence of my used cooler. For all I knew it was full of crud from a prior car's failed box or had lumps of solder/braze in it, left from manufacture.
This thread is useful on the subject, and proves you don't need a fancy Volvo item, only watch his choice of fluid?!

The four speed boxes are less picky and are fine with cheaper ATF.
