Well I agree.. but that's a bit of a generalisation, a variation of 10mpg between the GLE vs GLT only occurs on long runs, they're far closer in day to day driving in terms of economy, particularly from cold starts.
But the thing that really bugs me is the massive hole between 2nd and 3rd gear bought on by the taller diff, it's very,very noticable on my GLS too - the GLT is far better for this.
