My V70 Euro 4 D5 185 auto consistently does 32mpg mixed urban and rural driving on a commute and 28mpg towing a 1300kg+ caravan and one passenger with seats down and loaded with gear. Not fantastic but it's consistent and drives like new after nearly 100K miles. I knew what I was buying and love the car so I live with it. I'd probably be able to squeeze 500 miles out of a tank not towing.
