Thank you, did not think it had an EGR anywhere.
The actuator does not seem to have any 'shiny' bit when engine switched off so may be that might be the issue. Anyway taking car home tomorrow night and then have a look properly.
Want to try the 'cheaper' ways first before going for the expensive fuel pump. Car has only done just over 86000 miles now.
