It now seems to be working OK now.
Bled checked everything over again before bleeding again. Found one of the blanking nuts was weeping slightly and the filter bolt could be tighten a bit further. Think these are settling down issues.
Did a 40 mile run on various roads and no hesitation felt or hiccupping so all seems well with the Volvo now
