Been running Superforma 5x108 to 5x114.3 adapters on my car for 3 years and not had one single problem.
I run a 30mm rear and a 20mm front because my wheels are a 17x9 ET35 and 17x8 ET38. My arches are pushed right back and its tight at the rear with the 9. With a 17x8 ET38 at the back I had bags of room with the 30mm spacer....but more is always more and I had to have the 9s.

Great thanks for the info. My wheels are 16 inch 7.5j. Think the offset was 42.
Did you trim the hub studs down?
