Just done this
Another update, did this job today on my '04 Classic. I sourced a new linkage from Volvo.
It seems the 'official' way to do this is to split the ball joint in the linkage closest to the wiper motor. This is different than the original photos up there ^ where the 13mm nut is removed to detach the linkage from the motor.
Leaving the lever arm attached to the motor and splitting the ball joint makes for an easier job with regards to getting everything working in alignment with the wipers sweeping the correct arc.
