You don’t need to worry about the silver tube. The throttle body is the bit in the middle of the blue circle. You’ll need a torx key set, screw driver set, old tooth brush, carb cleaner, sand paper or emery cloth. Remove the engine cover, vacuum pipe, pop the plug off, remove the induction pipe, undo the three torx bolts and the body will come away from the inlet manifold. Undo the bolt that holds the sensor and pull it out, it will resist a little but it’ll come out?
Now you’ve got the body out push the flap open and spray it with carb cleaner, loosen up any stubborn carbon and oil off the flap and sides of the housing and repeat till clean. Let it dry out.
Push the flap open again and get some fine sand paper or emery and sand down the edges of the flap carefully so your giving it a bit more tolerance. I shined a torch into it with the flap closed and took enough off the flap so I had a slight halo of light between the flap and sides of the housing. Clean any residue from the sand paper out of the housing and then rebuild.
Make sure you don’t overtighten the hose clips otherwise you can distort the housing which will cause it to jam again.
If the issue doesn’t go away, then it’s back to the drawing board.
I haven’t done one of these for three years but it’s pretty self explanatory once you see how it’s held on.

So done the throttle body and shaved the flap. all back together and I will admit it does tend to start a little better than before (now only takes 2-3 gets to start) but it still smokes like a trooper!! any ideas on what else it could be gentlemen?? it's white smoke that comes out of the exhaust and it comes in masses when it starts as soon as the cars been driven a bit it stops and doesn't smoke it just needs to get warm?? could it be oil getting in somewhere?? fuel in somewhere?? fuel pressure?? thin oil?? I'm just clutching at strings now as I feel like I'm getting to the end of the road with this car.... All help and thoughts are much appreciated...
P.S. I have All ready changed the following; glow plugs(inc fuse, relay) starter motor - 3 injectors - egr complete - throttle body flap(shaved, cleaned) - fuel filter (twice cause of air bubbles)
