Here in Australia, the later 240s (after local production ended in the mid 1980s) are now hard to find in good condition, and it seems like values are climbing. Judging by what comes up on this forum, you don't yet have a big problem with that in the UK. The issue here is that in 1992 you could buy a Toyota Camry AND a Corolla for the price of a 240 estate, and so not very many 240s were sold new. Old estates were also a favourite for 'backpackers' driving around Australia -- reliable, rugged, and you can sleep in the back. Most of these got ruined.
