confirm the the tooling requirements please? He says he has something to lock the camshafts but is mentioning something to get the crankshaft pulley off "which will be tight" ?

Thanks in advance
There are a number of special tools required , to align and hold camshafts and also a crankshaft positioning pin which goes in the side of the block at the lower back of the engine .

He doesn't really want to do it .. or he wouldn't tell you he doesn't have the tools. If he chooses to take it on he's going to have to buy the tools and hope he knows about the method .

Apart from the timing belt Kit which includes belt, tensioner and gasket, you are supposed to replace the lower crankshaft toothed cambelt pulley as well as the main pulley bolt which is use once only as it is a stretch bolt . It has a special 3 stage angle tightening procedure , NOT just "Tight"

Dont forget the aux belt as well .

I would leave this Job to the experts who are to used to doing them!

Timing belt kit 31330784
( Inc belt and tensioner and gasket .)

Lower toothed pulley 30711665

Bolt 31330418
