The answer to the question as to what my car (CYV444C) is;
1964 built 1800S, chassis number 11607. This is one of the first 6,000 cars built in Sweden after production was moved from Jensen in the UK. The bodies were still fabricated in Scotland by Pressed Steel Ltd. The body trim styling did not change until the end of August 1964. My car was built in March 1964.
Someone put the sunroof in the car I believe in the early 70's. I put the wire wheels on the car. I understand Pelle Petersen the designer would have liked to have had wire wheels on the cars, but this was declined by Volvo, probably with a view to cost.
Finally, some recent enjoyment I have had from this car has been touring the North coast 500 in Scotland. The open sunroof was a bonus on warm sunny days; and with the perspex wind deflector, there is no buffeting at 70mph.
