The diff was making as much noise as both sides put together, i thought i'd gone deaf when i fitted the replacement back axle!
On mine it was wheel bearings and diff bearings plus some extra whine and rattle from the crown wheel and pinon in the diff because of the extra play so made a right cacophony!
