The newest 2018 map disc (2 DVDs) is sold as a 2018 update:
Map P/N 32214049 AA (shown on DVD as "Includes map 32214049")
Map version AEU_06_201701A, which is a 2017 map DVD, released early 2018
SW version 00002308/02400 (unchanged)
DVD Name EU-3350-00_1 (and EU-3350-00_2 for DVD2)
VCC part no 32214046 1748
Data Version 17/05/16/01 (which is 16.05.2017)

Your navOS version is currently 2104/2400
This means system 2400, version 2104 (I'm guessing one reads this as v2.104)
The current version is 2308 (v2.308)

You may or may not have Postcode search on your navOS version
So a map update may bring you the postcode search.
otherwise, we do not know what changes the navOS update brings.

The map data contains normally millions of map changes (for Europe)
Whether a map change affects you is purely dependent on where you drive, and how often streets change in that area.

In May 2016 I documented the entire update process from a 2010 map to a 2015 map (with map data from December 2014) here:
https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=250874
I went from a very old 2009 version 1630/2400 (v1.630) directly to v2.308

In April 2018 I documented the update process from the 2015 map to the 2017 map (with map data from May 2017) here:
https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=280267

The updates appear to be in 2 year cycles, we can expect the next update to be released at the start of 2020, with map data from around May 2019

So you would DEFINITELY benefit immediately from a map update, as it would take you from a 2012 map to a 2017 map, which is a 5 year leap ahead in map data!
I didn’t actually know you could get updates like that, thanks! I have just ordered a disc set and really looking forward to it.

Mine is a 2012 and I don’t have post code entry.

To the OP have you thought of a gear box oil change?
