Default update.

Well I decided to take the limo out for a spin friday nite, and was only going to drive it home and back to the yard saturday morning.Well I ended up running my girls here and there and taking my wife to work in it.And I must say mike brace was right it was amazing,it just glides along and soaks up the bumps.had no problems with it and managed to turn around and park it in the pub carpark.
I noticed quite a few people looking at it and my daughter said people kept trying to see who was sat in the back.

I gave it it's first quick wash friday after work in the rain and getting dark.Basically just a sponge down.Saturday morning I got to see it properly for the first time!it's quite straight I suppose and should polish up quite good.Boy is that going to be a work out,A bit like painting the forth road bridge.

A few tyres will have to be changed as one is perished and the other is low on tread.I was amazed at how much paint had flaked off from the inside of the wheels and will be looking for some better steel rims, maybe alloys if I happen to get some cheap.I bought some real cheap plastic hubcaps but they were weak and not to my liking. So today I bought a second set from Aldi's £9.99.The photoes show the rubbish ones on the nearside and the two that came with the car.

The seats are by far the most comfortable I've had in a volvo and I've had a few, even the centre seats are great. The center seats fold forward to give loads of floor space in the very rear of the car.

I soon realised that I have to judge my braking distance with all the extra wieght well it does weigh 2250Kg as opposed to the standard 1496Kg and I haven't had seven passengers in it yet Lol.

I had no trouble with the length of it and even did a sudden three point turn in heavy traffic to avoid a jam.

When I went into town to fetch my daughter I popped into my local mot station where I get all my cars done.He was well impressed and assures me "We will get it in the bay even if we have to jack it in"and he says he can still do the test without the wheels on the shaker plates as he can still do it the old fashioned way.now thats a result. He also thinks it may have been a mayors car or similare as it has two holes in the bonnet for some kind of mascot and the marks on the centre doors. And also why have a handsfree cradle on the dash and the microphone in the nearside rear as well as the speaker behind the rear headrest?

One cool thing is that all four rear windows open with the drivers door swithch,Anyway here are a few pictures to keep you going.

Regards Brian.
