My way of thinking - there is more load on the engine hence something has to give, biggest load engine to gearbox hence the clutch has concern.
It seems to be the less load on the engine ie no heater / fan / air con / lights and a warmer day would eliminate the severity of the judder.
Have also noted recently it also does it in reverse from cold.
All other gears seem fine through all temperatures of vehicle warm up.
Just the pulling off (cold) in 1st or reverse causes the judder, once warm it seems to be fine or less apparent.
The less acceleration causes the worst judder. On level ground and just lifting the clutch in 1st will feel like wheel spin.
I have tried the 4k rpm in 2nd straight to 6th and the car chugs along as expected with no excessive revs (to me no clutch slip).
I have tried the car out of gear cold raising and lowering the clutch very slowly to see if any pulsing can be felt through the pedal - nothing.
Several dips of the clutch before attempting the pull away also reduces the judder - will be changing the brake fluid soon which will include reverse bleeding the clutch incase of A) air pocket B) fluid has deteriorated.
Seems weird that the judder is less noticeable when either
the car is up to temperature,
pull away with higher revs (slip the clutch), or,
several pumps of the clutch have been applied prior to pulling away.....
