I hate cyclists that have flashing lights, now that is distracting. Standard LED lights for cyclists and runners are a life saver though, along with bright reflective material. I remember as a kid having lights on my bike and they were next to useless. It was like having a fading candle on your bike.
LED lights on cars are hear to stay. They are brighter, longer lasting, use less power. Like them or not, they are not going anywhere. As long as they are set right they are not a problem. If they are too high then they are brutal, no question.
