Hi all,

Just wanted to report back but I have finally solved this mysterious knock/vibration on acceleration. Having previously checked all my bushes, control arms, wheel bearings, lower ball joints wishbones et cetera I have finally found what the noise was being caused by.

It was, wait for it, the engine mount that sits beneath the serpentine pulley on the driver-side. On inspection it didn’t look that the Bush was significantly deteriorated but on removal it was proper buggered. £41 spend on a new bush has completely solved this issue and took me under two hours to replace – I did do a few other little jobs in the wheel well at the same time.

Just sharing this news in case anyone else has this unusual noise that they can’t track down – check this engine mount!
