A PU sealant/ filler such as Sikaflex EBT is what the screen needs. As mentioned, silicone sealants excrete acetic acid
and H2O, an unfortunate mix when trapped behind rubber and held against steel.
Im hoping to see lots of pictures and write ups as the work progresses on this one.
