The Greeks and Romans were building long before Rome was built and the Roman Empire came into existence I know the celts of Britain and Ireland were trading with them and other people's from the day they set sail and floated in boats. also Egypt

The Romans ( or the people they were called before hand ) didn't just land and invade Britain. They were trading and had trade routes all over the British isles.
