50 years ago with primitive casting techniques, wide oil galleries and mineral based oils this was true but nowadays it is not.
There is evidence to support that wear is accelerated during a
cold start but this is because of the corrosive effect of in complete combustion due to the richer mixture and cooler temperatures. Nothing to do with the oil.
Clearly if you start it with your foot hard on the throttle and rev the nuts off it before the oil system is fully pressurised, that's not good, but these days normal hot starts don't do anything untowards.
