A great few days in Gothenburg and thanks to Steve for all the organising. Unfortunately Gordy and I didn't get the chance to socialise with our fellow Forum members in the evenings but it was good to meet and chat at the facory. Lots of good humour and considerable knowledge of Volvo, the products and history. Thanks to you all for your company and I had hoped to meet up with you Johnathan D but it didn't happen.
Everyone at Volvo were very friendly and helpful from the moment we stepped into reception in the morning through the factory with our Chinese guide, our very entertaining lady at the Safety Centre - she had lots of facts and figures - and those at the Test Track.
Gordy and I attended at the Museum on Wednesday afternoon having been a bit later arriving on the Tuesday. We had the place to ourselves from about 4.30pm until closing and had good chats with the museum director and his rather attractive assistant. We had good chats with them and got some inside info and freebies from them. The director was delighted that we had all wanted to visit his museum and if anyone wants to visit there then we have to contact him and he will fix things up for us.
I still had Thursday to myself, everyone else having gone and my flight not until Friday, very early!! and so decided to climb on the train to Stockholm. Very fast and smooth. Spent a couple of hours there enjoying a pint outside a pub on a main street watching the world and Volvos go by. Slower train back to Gothenburg. Rather expensive pint all in but the trip was most enjoyable and was a great way to see Sweden. Parts of anyway.
Well done Steve. A great success I think. At least I enjoyed it and I know Gordy did too.
