If it has a ETM and no HT leads then it will be a 20 valve car either, 140 or 170 hp.
Have a look at the timing belt cover for the engine code.
The engine management system for a non turbo car will be Denso, this is OBDII compliant but won't produce flash codes.
You may want to talk to your insurers, if the engine is wrongly described you may not be coverd.
