Not had a good day. Car failed MOT on rear drop links, and advisory on rear arb bushes. I have pre-empted this already, so sourced some drop links and took a guess at the arb bushes. Got the bushes from PFS for the V40; same diameter (16mm) same width and height.

Rear anti roll bar was a real nightmare to remove from the car, so I left it in situ and I chain drilled the bushes and managed to prize them off the arb. Removed the bush brackets and prized open the brackets to fit the new bush; everything right except the contour, which made the bush fit lower in the bracket. Trimmed a bit of rubber off and now the bush is totally useless.

So, my car is still on axle stands on the drive, and I need to find somewhere local where I can take my knackered bushes and compare with bushes that are probably for other car makes.

All to save the £150 +...........sometimes I wish I just would pay the money and get someone else to sort out
