Thought I'd post an update on this...
Problem is still there and every so often I think...I must get that sorted. But the car is still ok and gets around 40-45mpg so alls good in that respect.
I've been thinking about what the real problem could be though. And I recently found out this car has a dual mass flywheel listed in vida.
If this was breaking down and failing could this be the source of my issue.
Other linked issues like feeling pulses through the clutch pedal and ticking noises (the noises I always out down to the vac pump) but now I'm not too sure.
Has anyone has a dmf go bad on one of these tdis?
It's done around 160k and I had no history when I bought it so I don't know if it's ever been done...
