Thanks all for the replies, I've got the O-rings replaced, just faffing about with trying to fit the clips back now.
Just a note about the threads detailing the need to cut the clip - If you undo the torx bolt holding the heater in place you can slide the heater out far enough past the control box to pull out the clip. The details about needing to refit the clip from the opposite direction still hold though.
