The throttle body is a weak point on them but you can clean emir replace them yourself.

I hear there's been some turbo issues but I have really come across anything with my own motor.

Check for air bubbles on the fuel line around the filter. Sometimes they haven't been seated right when fitted.

AUX belt and idler condition

And Alternators can be an issue too

However, it's a good Diesel engine and you'll be fine. Good luck with the new motor.
