I am thinking I will offer sub £200 for the complete blockto offer 200 pound for a 151C Block is barefacing in my mind :-(, as he should be able to get some decent money for just the head, carbs and inlet manifold. If not acceoted, i'll just bod on the whole engine and see if he'll 'buy back' the bits I don't want

I was hoping to be able to use the 531 head for a simple power/torque upgrade You will gain zero torque at lower revolutions with this head, you will loose torque at lower revsdue to the apparent better intake side of this head, but I understand it isn't inherently compatible with the K-Jet injectors, so this is made simpler by not needing the head - just need the complete block. The seller knows very little about the engines (the other of the pair he has fitted to his boat, to replace a busted AQ131) although the one he is now using apparently runs very well and they came from an early 90's boat. I've found these production dates online:

AQ151A: 1985-1986
AQ151B: 1985-1987
AQ151C: 1985-1989

Whilst i'm thinking about this, to make the most economical and torquey improvement possible (on our very limited budget) I'm thinking about injectors and exhausts.

The injectors i'm considering are these ones, i've posted on another thread about K-Jet injector options, but these seem to be fitted to loads of Mercedes, Ferrari and some Renaults of various engine sizes and power outputs (103bhp 1.8 i4 to 414bhp 5.2 V12), they also seem to be reasonably priced compared to the 0 437 502 020 and ...022 injectors fitted to the B200ET and B280E respectively.Don't even think about this. You will never ever get it run proper. K-Jet is the most complicated injections system if you try to modify it. You won't find many informations about this system inside the www because of the complexity. 99.9% of the people at the internet have no glue, no glue about anything. This forum is one of the best volvo relatet, you won't find anyone who is able to tune a K-jet AND WILL POST THIS. I did it in the past, with very good results. I know it will be the very most expensive tune you could think about. A swap to a LH2.4 is waaaaay cheaper, even with new wiring loom, injectors and new computers, and will work very well

Exhuast wise, i'm thinking a custom made stainless 2.5" If you prefer a screamer do this. 2.25" matches better'long-life' system, there is a place in Yeovil that specialise in these and I've been meaning to get a quote for ages. Does anyone have experience with a redblock full stainless system? In this case as smooth and quiet as possible is the aim, we'll eventually be doing a lot of 80mph cruising throughout Europe in this here Hearse and exhaust drone and vibration would be quite irritating!

/Ramblings.
your inlet is still the best, not easy to modify, still the best. I use them at the LH2.4 systems, perfect.
good luck, Kay
