My 12 year old V70 D5 had the aux belt tensioner replaced 4 years and 16,000 miles ago (cambelt replaced 2 years ago). I use a good Volvo Indy who works with/to Volvo parts and standards.
The stealer old service sheets for the car state 10 years/54k miles whichever sooner for replacement of the aux belt/tensioner.
It’s near a £250 job all in IIRC, so I’m not minded to get in changed next year at 5 years as the car will have only done 20k miles since the last change.
Is this a wise move? I’m all for preventative maintenance, but have to draw a line if it’s starts getting expensive, and not actually recommended by Volvo themselves.
