Possibly because they haven't had to pay out so much in the past couple of years and they can afford to drop the premium which makes them more competitive and gains/keeps business (I don't subscribe to the school of thought that all insurers are total rip off merchants). Just like they reckon as a retiree you'll be at home more of the time as a human burglar deterrent, the number of people working from home during lockdown possibly reduced the opportunity for naughty people to break in?
