Some, but not all, of the methods i used to remove the old ones include a drill, hammer and brass drift, blowlamp, hacksaw (once i had a big enough hole, i put the blade through, refitted to the frame and then cut a slit in the outer case of the sensor to try and ease the tension on it) and a few others i can't remember now.

Didn't fancy ever having to do that again hence the idea to enlarge, polish and protect the hole with grease before the new ones went in!
